Google’s New AI Tool for Creating Videos from Images
Google has developed an exciting new AI tool that transforms static images into short videos. This innovative feature will first be available on the new Honor 400 and 400 Pro smartphones, which will be released on May 22. The tool uses the Veo 2 model and can create five-second videos in either portrait or landscape format. The operation is straightforward: there are no text commands for generation, so you must rely entirely on the AI to produce appealing results.
Varied Results and Limitations
The results can vary significantly. While the AI delivers fairly realistic animations with simpler subjects like people or animals, it can produce quirky outcomes with more complex images. For instance, a vintage car was illogically spun in place, and a women’s soccer scene with 27 players caused confusion. This highlights that the technology is not yet perfect and sometimes yields unexpected results.
Availability and Future Prospects
Using this feature on Honor smartphones is free for the first two months, but there is a limit of ten video creations per day. After this trial period, a subscription may be required, though the exact details are not yet known. Interestingly, Google’s Veo 2 is already used in the paid Gemini Advanced offering, but so far only for text inputs.
This new feature demonstrates how AI is increasingly integrated into our daily lives, offering you creative opportunities to transform your images into moving content. Stay tuned for what the future holds!
