Oracle’s Ambitious Plans in Texas
Oracle is making significant investments in Texas, as the company plans to develop a new, massive data center for OpenAI. To support this venture, Oracle is purchasing 400,000 Nvidia chips from the brand new GB200 series. With an impressive capacity of 1.2 gigawatts, this data center will become one of the largest of its kind worldwide.
Project Financing and Goals
The project is being financed with a substantial 15 billion dollars from Blue Owl Capital and Crusoe, underscoring Oracle’s ambitions. The data center is expected to begin operations by mid-2026, with a clear objective: to lease the computing power to OpenAI to meet the growing demands for AI applications.
Expansion Plans in Abu Dhabi
But that’s not all. In parallel, Oracle is planning the construction of another mega data center in Abu Dhabi. These mega data centers are specifically designed for extensive and demanding computations required for processing artificial intelligence. With these initiatives, Oracle positions itself as a key player in the AI infrastructure sector, demonstrating that the demand for high-performance computing power continues to rise.
