Google’s Update for Fitbit: Introducing an AI-Driven Health Coach
Google has given its fitness platform Fitbit a comprehensive update, introducing an AI-driven health coach. This digital companion is designed to serve as your fitness trainer, sleep coach, and general health and wellness advisor. The rollout begins in October, initially in the USA and exclusively for Premium users.
Dynamic Workout Planning with AI
The new AI coach in the Fitbit app is designed to plan your workouts dynamically by considering real-time data. Specifically, if you have had a poor night’s sleep, the intensity of your workout will be automatically adjusted. You can also inform the coach if you’re feeling unwell or wish to set new fitness goals. You will then receive personalized training plans tailored to your current situation.
Comprehensive Sleep Support
The app offers more than just fitness benefits. It also supports you in sleep by recognizing patterns and creating personalized sleep plans. This can help you better manage issues like jet lag. Through integration with various health platforms, the AI also has access to specific health data to provide you with tailored recommendations.
Fitbit App Facelift
The Fitbit app itself has received a facelift. It now features a new design, a dark mode, and improved data visualizations and synchronizations. However, the new app is currently limited to the US market, meaning users in Germany will have to wait.
Competition in the Health Platform Market
Google is not alone in this field: Companies like Apple and Samsung are also expanding their health platforms to offer you more comprehensive support in health and fitness.
